LA Sport Voortrekker will be using my JImny to build their own version bumper that should look a little like this one , but with a few tweaks , spotlights instead of the flicker lights , highlift jack points and recovery points , cant wait

Dude1978, you might as well just order the Burnco one then. In my opinion still the best option for a Jimny.

A bumper is definitely more than 20kg and then a winch adds another 30-40kg.

That's more than 5% off the total vehicle weight added, and all of that weight in front of the front axle.
I would think you needed a suspension upgrade (and not only a spacer lift) when doing this mod would be essential.

Isn't there a bumper that's lighter than the OEM bumper?

Isn't the Jimny all about its small size and being light? Just wondering...

Seeing as the OEM bumper is made of fairly thin plastic, there isn't much that is lighter.

OME make heavy duty coils for the front of the Jimny to accommodate their bumper (ARB) and a winch. A few of the guys on here have exchanged their front coils for heavy duty ones when they fitted a bumper.

I agree with Dewald - Burnco is the best option and costs much less than ARB.
I would guess that the ARB is lighter though? Hein at Burnco did most of the work - bash plates,rock sliders etc on my Jimny. I seem to recall Weg Magazine used a Burnco bumper too on their Toyota.

Now This I like. With a few tweaks it would look awesome. Perhaps incorporate the spots. Recovery points etc.

I had 4 custom built at an engineering shop. At the time ARB and TJM were around R10500.00, and I refused to pay that. Prices have come down to ~R8500.00 since.

I still have one lying in my way, PM if interested..

Here are some better pics of the bumper , I dont have the costing on it yet , but will let you know as soon as I do. This bumper is ready for a winch to be fitted and additional spotlights , it also has highlift jack points.I have gotten so much complimentrs on this bumper must say the guys at LA Sport in Vorrtrekker str Pretoria did a great job.There is already an addional two ordered for manufacture , so pm me if you are interrested.

Hi Guys

Just got the price for the LA Sport bumper , R8495 . Asked them about the recovery points and they said no problem to add them. Also just realized that the spots in the bumper are not from the stock bumper , these are actually the spots they put in ARB bumpers.

If you guys are interrested in this bumper please contact the guys at at LA Sport Gesina , I think they did a great job and the price is not bad either.

Oh Yea forgot to say , I have a stock black bumper free to a good home , that needs it , and if no one needs it I think it can be modified to make a nice offroad bumper . This bumper is already cut to fit the 235 bridgestones i have on. I also have the Jimny nudge bar make me an offer

My latest upgrade .... New Mounty's BullBar.
Love it or hate it .... I love it.
The BullBar is actually quite light in comparisson to others but the little extra weight has plated the front end of my Jimny quite nicely as the OME in my car came with HD coils in front. The combination of the OME, Bullbar and steering damper just makes the drive incredible tar or dirt or rock, makes no matter. It is still not quite finished as we'll do some refining touches on it and it still needs powder coating but I am very happy with the end result. Thanks a lot for your hard work Monty. My Jimny now has a name to suite it's character "BosTokelos".

The satndard Jimny driving lights incorporated in the bullbar works very nicely and I have also added a set of Hella "Black Magic" spots. These work and look great with the covers off. I know that some people will comment about the lack of a winch but this was not a priority for me right now.

I think you might want to negotiate this with Monty. I can say this though, mine was more that R3500 cheaper than an ARB. Considdering the weight difference between the two, mine would be much better suited to stock Jimnys or any Jimny that does not have HD coils in front. I spoke to a dealer the other day that had put ARB on a stock car and the owner was forced to upgrade the suspension because of the nose dive effect.

The reason why I will never buy a locally made bumper again is Nudge M. Quality and fitment is poor and no comment from him when I made suggestions to improve it. I will rather pay double for an imported bumper. On my Jeep the imported bumpers was around 50% cheaper than locally made bumpers and the quality is excellent.

My friend at Brits 4x4 accesories in Malmesbury will allso start development on a steel replacement bullbar for the Jimny owners down here it Cape town .

He will start with a Basic one on my Jimny , but all his bullbar is custom build to the customers requests .

Airbag compatible .
Way better priced .
Light weigtht and very strong !
