Hi guys,

Had to replace my battery today on my 2006 KB Double Cab. Now my window winder switches on the driver's side don't work anymore. The other switches (passenger and rear) still work perfectly. Coincidence or not? Anyone a tip?

Thanks!

So I find myself in an undisclosed African country with a bit of spare time on my hands. (undisclosed because I'm still here with fodies in my phone and I don't want any trouble) Some hills nearby so I reckon a hike is in order. I get to the third summit and come into a clearing and there before me are some dilapidated Russian trucks with a variety of big antennas on them. They look like they have been there since the Ark so I take a few pics.
Then a bit further along I bump into an oke and greet him. He in turn runs away shouting and next thing you know I'm surrounded by some dudes. Turns out I walked into a military base and they don't look impressed.
One (kind) oke tells me to follow him quickly and leads me down a path for some distance, points me in a direction, and tells me to move it.

So anyhoo, I'm back at my hotel and my virginity is still intact. :-X

Hi

From Kafue NP we would like to drive west, via Kaoma to Mongu, turning south to Sesheke via the Ngonye Falls at Sioma.
It's going to be the beginning of September.
I assume flooding is not going to be a problem at that time of the year?
Is the pontoon vehicle ferry at Kalongola, just south of Senanga, operating then?
Has anyone done this route?
What's a realistic driving time (stops excluded) from Mongu to Sesheke, quality of the road?

thanks

Hans.

Hi All,

On the subject of identifying the biodiversity around us I'd like to introduce you to the relatively new "iSpot southern Africa" managed by the SA National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI). iSpot southern Africa already has 500 registered users and 15000 determinations. The official launch of the web site is imminent. The experts that participate assist you to identify your biodiversity observations and add great value to our community by sharing their knowledge with you.

This site is a great resource for all those who spend time in the great outdoors and have an interest in identifying the biodiversity around them. It's also an opportunity for you all to contribute your valuable observations to help advance southern African biodiversity science.

Hope that you find the site valuable. I know that SANBI would appreciate all your contributions.

Hi guys, i'm about to take my outdoor adventure to new levels by purchasing a Defender 110 (213 000km). Im no bush mechanic but reading through the forums, i guess i'm going to have to do some crash course as part of the experience.
Questions for you guys on The vehicle in question:

1. The seals on the power steering is leaking some oil. How serious could the problem be and approximate repair costs. It would be great if you could also recommend a trustworthy facility or person in CT who could assist me with repairs.

2. I would like to replace the 'bench' seats with more comfy seats and ensure that safety isnt compromised. The ergonomics of the replacement seats should also allow for Viewing game etc without one having to bend to look out.
What seats have you guys used? Who in CT can assist with this?

3. Any good general advise on what to watch out for etc would be welcome.

Thank you in advance
